Ford recall
For blank instrument panel
Ford is recalling 6,212 of its 2024 Mustang vehicles. The NHTSA report said “the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may not illuminate at startup or while driving.
An instrument panel display that does not show warning lights or vehicle speed will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
In addition, the government agency said the 2024 Ford Mustang “fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, ‘Control and Displays’ and 102, 'Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect.’”
Dealers will update the instrument panel cluster software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Nov. 11. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C35.

For rearview camera display failure
Ford is recalling 24,950 of its vehicles. In the NHTSA report the automobile manufacturer said, “water may enter the Tailgate Park Assist Sensor Interface Module (TPASIM) and cause the rearview camera image to display intermittently or appear blue or black.”
When a rearview camera image does not display, it can decrease the driver's visibility, the report said. This will increase the risk of injury or crash, the report said.
Ford dealers will replace the tailgate top camera, wire harness, TPASIM module, and update the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) software. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Dec. 9. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S66.

The NHTSA report said that driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.
The government agency also adds that the Ram 1500 “fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, ‘Electronic Stability Control Systems.’”

Safety systems that depend on the ECU may have diminished or lose its functionality, the report said. This will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
Dealers will reprogram the ECU software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Dec. 13. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0472.
