Milo Ventimiglia is poised to take on a real-life role that he previously played on This Is Us: Dad.
The actor's wife, Jarah Mariano, announced Sept. 29 that she pregnant. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model shared a photo of herself showcasing a baby bump while sitting on a surf board in the ocean in her native Hawaii, captioning the Instagram post, "Baby on board!"
The 39-year-old, whose last name is the same as Milo's character on the early aughts series Gilmore Girls, also included a second pic of herself sitting on the surf board that also showed her and the hand of a hidden person making the shaka, or "hang loose" sign.
Jarah announced her pregnancy less than a week after she and the Heroes alum, 47, celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
"Last year I married my best friend," she wrote on Instagram Sept. 23, alongside photos of herself and her husband at their Hawaiian wedding, which marked the first ones shared publicly. "There aren’t enough words that exist to describe all the special qualities that make him who he is."
The Victoria's Secret model continued, "AlI can say is that I am grateful for the life that we have together and the happiness that we have created."
She then wrote in Hawaiian, "I like you," and then in English, "my husband Milo."
Milo, who isn't active on social media, and Jarah did not announce their marriage after they tied the knot. The news was made public weeks later, in October 2023, and the actor later offered fans some details about the nuptials.
"It was quiet," he said about the wedding on E! News this past February. "We had a nice, quiet time. It was beautiful. It was lovely. Some family and close friends were there. It was wonderful."
In a previous interview, Milo spoke about his and his wife's shared background.
"She's from Hawaii but had grown up not too far from me in Orange County," the Land of Bad star said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in January, "and we lived in the same neighborhood."
Milo also acknowledged the coincidence of marrying a woman with the same surname as his Gilmore Girls character.
"Jess Mariano," he said. "I think once people started to know her name in connection to my name and my name in connection to her name, then I'm like, 'Oh, that's right, that used to be my name.'"
