The Critics Choice Awards are getting ready to ring in a milestone year—and E! is hosting the party.
The annual award show, which celebrates movies and shows chosen by American-Canadian Critics Choice Association will air it’s 30th ceremony on E! Sunday, Jan. 12, live from Santa Monica, California at Barker Hangar. Plus, Coming in hot and returning for the third consecutive year as host is comedian Chelsea Handler.
“Returning for the third year to host the Critics Choice Awards has been made even sweeter knowing it will now air on E!,” Chelsea said in a statement. “I feel like I’m returning to my birthplace.”
The nominees for this ceremony won’t be announced until Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, but if it’s anything like year’s past…it’s going to be full of star power.
The 2024 ceremony saw Oppenheimer leading the pack with eight wins, including individual wins for the film’s director, Christoper Nolan and supporting actor, Robert Downy Jr. Barbie, meanwhile, followed behind to take home six awards. It was also a big night for TV as The Bear, Succession and Beef all won big.
And E! is starting the 2025 celebrations early, kicking off with a one-hour red carpet pre-show before the ceremony begins.

Comedy veteran and the former host of E!’s Chelsea Lately, Chelsea Handler will return as the ceremony’s mc for the third year in a row. If it’s anything like the year’s before, the show will be filled with laughs and maybe some ex-boyfriend jokes.
